Bumbershoot Visual Arts Gala

I know it's a bit last minute but everybody should check out the Bumbershoot Visual Arts Gala Tonight. It's the closest thing to an actual survey of what is happening in art here in Seattle all in one place. Here's some info for you---

Presented by Seattle School

Witness! Two competing teams will create original music using only source audio collected and recorded from the audience.

Corey Paganucci (KUMA) and Robert Millis (Climax Golden Twins)
vs. DJ Nordic Soul and Jesse Paul Miller

The winning team will be determined by reading audience members’ physical reactions to the music. Medical readings will be administered by real nurses!

Tour the 2005 Bumbershoot Visual Arts Exhibits:

-Art of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion is from the collection of Dennis King, an internationally recognized authority on contemporary posters, rock & roll posters, graphics, and screenprints, and Japanese pop culture artifacts.

-Bluebottle Art Gallery showcases the very best in one-of-a-kind artwork and functional gear from Pacific Northwest Artists.

-Recontextualized Vistas: Concerning Place is a multi-media exhibition made up of eight Eastern/Central Washington artists who work in media ranging from photography and sculpture to video and installation.

-In Resonance is an exhibition of sound-based artwork and installations, curated by Robert Millis and Fionn Meade

-Outside In is a group exhibition in which eight artists and/or creative partnerships from the Northwest and across the U.S. explore environment and our relationship to it using a wide variety of “unnatural”—i.e. technology focused—media.
More information

-Raw & Refined will feature new, site-specific work by a total of eight Seattle, New York, San Francisco, and Amsterdam artists.

-Cell Works, a solo exhibit by artist Miyooon explores the process of creation as well as the end result of his cells.
