just a thought

Yesterday I had a very interesting conversation with Michelle Dunn of Aperture West discussing various elements of the arts environment here in Seattle. One thing that came up was the need for an event much like Bay Area Now, a triennial survey of emerging artists and arts organizations. It seems to me that there are not alot of opportunities for artists to reach the serious art collectors here in Seattle as well as throughout the northwest. This would be a great way to connect the collectors with the artists that may not be represented by the Pioneer square scene, as well as giving the artists a chance to raise their game to a higher level.
