No dripa dripa

I really dig Logan Hicks work. As far as the stencil game is concerned he is pretty much at the top along with Blek Le Rat and Banksy. He has been working with K-Swiss on some projects including a tour to China and here is a cool commercial they did together. Enjoy

Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir,

I just heard Desmond Dekker died today........Wow. I loved his voice, His songs are forever going to be in my heart.

LONDON - Desmond Dekker, who brought the sound of Jamaican ska music to the world with songs such as "Israelites," has died, his manager said Friday. He was 64.
Dekker, who lived in England, collapsed from an apparent heart attack at his home on Thursday, manager Delroy Williams said. "It is such a shock, I don't think I will ever get over this," Williams said.

Mayor Bloomberg Vs. NYC Graffiti Artists

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Councilman Peter Vallone, Jr., are now chasing graffiti artists from the streets into painter’s unions and art schools. Their efforts are not completely unlike the new War On Terror in the Middle East where every smiling face hides a potential “person of interest.” It’s hard to target the real enemy because they mostly all look like regular citizens.

Why don't you guys tell me your favorite artstash posts and we will make a "Favourite of Artstash Vol. 1 post"

"Groundswell" at BLVD Gallery opens May 12

Cut Kulture United

BLVD Gallery is proud to present for its inaugural show, “Groundswell”, a diverse collection of some the most exciting artists of the Urban Contemporary movement. These artists have literally made their mark across the globe helping to create what has become the predominant visual art form of modern urban culture using the visual vernacular of graffiti, pop culture, and fine art with the viral strategies of mass marketing. This show is meant to serve as an introduction to the incredible depth of the Urban Contemporary art community and the ongoing aesthetic that BLVD Gallery wishes to promote.
Participating in this show are pioneers of the “Street Art” world, as well as individuals who recontextualize the visual language of the city to create a new visual expression that is spiritually rooted in folk art but is undeniably “Fine” art. Though the art may appear incredibly varied there is a thread of modernism that connects all of the work together and gives it an accessibility that is often missing from more conceptual endeavors.

Participating artists are:
Invader
Mearone
Joshua Petker
Greg Simkins, “Craola”
Thomas Han
Damon Soule
Oliver Vernon
Joshua Krause
Robert Hardgrave
Iosefatu Sua
Sam Sneke
Sylvia Ji
Bigfoot
Martin Ontiveros
Bwana Spoons
Darvin Vida
Tra Selhow
Warren Dykeman

Opens May 12 6pm-10pm
